The price of anything is the amount of life you exchange for it.” — Henry David Thoreau
When I came across this quote it hit me square in the face.
I like to avoid making things about money, and the word “price” makes me think in terms of dollars. But, we’ve been trained to think that way about most things.
The “amount of life” is the how much part. It could be how much time? How much of your self? Or then again, how much money? And so it goes, “Time is money.”
The real question is “How much life are you willing to give up in exchange for ‘X’? And ‘X’ can be anything from necessities like food, clothing and homes to all the “nice to haves” in life.
We get to make choices everyday.
The journey we’re on at LifeUntucked is to tune in to those choices, many we don’t even realize we’re making. The goal is to pick intentional living as much and often as we can. To lighten our load, cut some strings, and live in an authentic way.
There’s a whole lot of LifeUntucked packed into this very wise quote. It’s a choice. Your choice!
I’m hoping you’ll come along as we figure this out… If you enjoyed this post, I invite you to subscribe. I’m posting weekly on Wednesdays.
