I’m putting you on notice. It is almost over.
Summer is halfway over! What? Is that too harsh for you? Trust me. You will thank me later.
But, how did it happen so fast? It was just Memorial Day Weekend.”
Um, yes! Seven-Weekends-Ago. Just stop it—you sound like the whining kid at the supermarket.
But seriously now, how has your summer been so far? Good I hope… You’re not letting a perfectly good summer slip by, are you?
C’mon now… Good times wait for no one!
How can you not love summer?
You’ve just let it turn into a grown-up summer. You can fix that.
Earlier today, something reminded me of the big, city-owned swimming pool in my home town. Not sure what it was, maybe a song on the radio. That usually does it for me. But I was there, if only for a moment. I could smell the chlorine.
A favorite song takes me back, usually when I’m driving somewhere in my car wishing the AC could do a little better job keeping up. Yes, those were the days—but they don’t have to be entirely gone.

Today is cookin’ hot in the Mid-Atlantic—something close to 97-degrees-Fahrenheit (I spelled that out for impact, plus I couldn’t find the little degree sign in Wingdings). It’s tolerable because there’s a decent breeze and the humidity is uncharacteristically low.
One more time now, “Summer is halfway over. What am I going to do about it?”
Have you had your summer vacation yet? August seems to be a popular month for that if for no other reason than the impending deadline of summer ending. There I said it. It’s not endless. Summer does come to an end. Tick. Tick. Tick.
Remember when summer vacation was the best time ever? The time of year we lived for.
So, get on with your plans, take that trip. Go to the coast, or up North where it’s cooler. Go camping. Take a road trip. Make it fun because the dog days are coming.

You know this… every summer tells a story. Make this one memorable. There’s still time… more than a month for goodness’ sake.
You’ll be thanking me. Remember that.
