Some things worth being thankful for…
Family, friends, neighbors, a day off to share a good meal. Stories, memories, and traditions… freedom to exaggerate.
These are just a few…
I didn’t set out to write a post about Thanksgiving, because there just might be enough of those already out there.
But, then again, I remembered that I had saved this quote…
Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend.”— Melody Beattie, author, journalist
Fair to say Thanksgiving is about gratitude, right?
I think Melody managed to capture most of the idea in just a handful of carefully chosen words. What do you think? I kind of like it.
Then, I came across this in a post on GoinsWriter.com this morning,
…life is so much better than I ever expected or deserved. There’s so much left to accomplish, but what’s happened thus far is pretty good, too.”— Jeff Goins, author
Not everyone gets to say this… That’s something I always try to remember.
I think that’s why we need a Thanksgiving.
Something I’m most thankful for this year is that I started LifeUntucked. I’ve been at it for over forty weeks now. And I don’t plan to stop anytime soon. I only hope I can continue to deliver good words, thoughts, and ideas for you.
Funny thing, speaking of forty… I just realized that it was almost forty years ago exactly when I first thought, “I think I’d like to write.”
It took me a while, but I finally did. And, I am grateful for that. They say the two hardest things about writing are starting, and not stopping. One down. One to go.
If there’s something burning inside you that you’ve been thinking about, I urge you to start.
Even if you’ve become numb to the heat of the fire, we need it from you, and only you can give it to us.
There’s still time to start this year. Do it. Go for it. Starting. Then, not stopping. It’s only two steps.
I’m keeping it short today, because there’s a lot to get ready… it’s okay to be a little busy. We are kicking off the holidays, after all.
Just be sure to find time to put your feet up and give yourself a well-deserved break.
Thank you so very much for stopping by to see what’s going on at Life Untucked.
I am truly grateful for you.
