Tuesday’s Headline— March Finally Ends in a Record 184 Days!
Aren’t you so glad March is finally over? How am I so sure of it? Stay with me and I’ll get to that in a moment…
As you know, most years we strive to have a summer where we get out and about so we can have some fun with family and friends. We have cookouts, go to ballgames, take trips, go swimming, and what have you.
Ours may not be the endless summers of days gone by. But still, they are summer, and we all do our best to love and protect them while making them our own.
This year instead, we had a very, very long March.
That season known normally as summer really didn’t feel very summerish this year, did it? We didn’t have a “real” summer at all. The days kept adding up and adding up. Our lives felt like March just kept dragging on. And on. And on. Then it stayed a while longer. March 2020 felt like Groundhog Day stuck in a do-loop.
Or maybe like that old friend from college who came to visit for a few days. But stayed for another week, and then another week, and yet another week until you just couldn’t stand him any longer. But for some reason there was no way to peel his sorry ass off of your sofa. That was March 2020.
After One-Hundred-and-Eighty-four-Days… March finally ends! Sigh. Welcome to September, my friends!
We should remember September as the gift it truly is.
If you think about it, we’ve been programmed since our first day of Kindergarten, to think of this time of year as the start of something new. And other than when our natural lizard-brain fears kick in—it’s an exciting time too.
Of all the accepted seasonal routines, the starting of another school year is one of the most refreshing and inspiring. And of all the things that a “normal” life programs our brains to accept and then perform year in and year out, this routine is one of the best for us.
Think of it as a bonus New Year of sorts.
Think of it as the start of a kind of “bonus” New Year that happens two-thirds of the way through the regular year, but without all the fuss. Not to mention the weather is a lot nicer.
As I mentioned before, the “mindset reset” that comes with it happens without us even thinking about it. After all those years of starting a new school year around this time every year, we’re left with a natural feeling of an automatic reboot.
You now get to cleanse your head, heart, and soul of your 2020 troubles and simply let that restart routine run in your brain.
And that is why March 2020 has finally ended. Consider it over and done with. Finished. Gone for good. Let it out… March finally ends!
Feel it? It’s starting.
Be untucked.

Always liked new beginnings, fresh starts and mulligans. Anticipating a small blip till after the election though, the power of positive thinking is on the rebound I hope.
Good read, kinda jump started my day! 🤓👍

So glad to hear it jump started your day… Hang on to that feeling. I do hope you’re right about positive thinking, Mike! You’re doing a lot every day to help nudge that along, so stay the course and we’ll get there.👍

Yep, each day is a new day – blessings every day.

Thanks Lou, there is no better way to say it…”Each day is a new day – blessings every day.”

Yes, it feels different somehow. September – the jump off place for happy things: fall, baking, canning apples, coasting downhill toward Christmas, all warm and cozy feelings SO needed right now. Thank goodness March is over! :o) Very clever and a healthy thought I will share with others! Thanks, Jeff!
