We did it, so “Farewell 2022!”
We’ve all but made it through the year-end craziness. All the fourth-quarter madness at work. The holidays, of course—Oh Those Holidays. Well, almost. There is that New Year’s thing.
First I was, then I wasn’t… going to write a post this week. I said I’m taking the week off, after all. And that takes some work in itself! You may be feeling that yourself.
So, what are you doing this week?
Resting, reflecting, regenerating, recovering—what’s your “R-word”? If you don’t have one, find one fast! There’s still time.
For me, this week is a restorative time. (aka – “I’m on vacation.”) And no, I’m not even letting myself start thinking about next year and resolutions, goals, new leaves turned, and what have you.
Given the simple fact that 90-plus percent of us quit or outright give up by the end of the third week of January, I don’t even set any New Year’s anything until then.
I’d say this meme gets the resolution ritual thing right—
I don’t call them resolutions. I prefer the term: Casual Promises to myself that I’m under no obligation to fulfill.”
That’s why I’m resting, reflecting, and regenerating for now.
How do you handle this in-between time?
What are you doing for yourself? It can be tough for many of us with all the go-go-go go, more-more-more, now-now-now still thumping away in this noisy world we live in. So, I hope you’re allowing some “R” time too.
Not everybody gets to, but… if you can… you deserve it.
You could even say you owe it to yourself and even those who get to live with you. There’s still some time left.
See you next year!
Be untucked.
p.s. Cool new things are in the works in the LifeUntucked® Research Labs and will be announced early in 2023!

Thanks for putting that out there, friend. I keep getting tempted but… just not going to go there. And also trying to give myself grace that it’s OK if I ‘just’ relax without also getting things crossed off my to-do list.
Restorative, indeed. What a perfect and powerful thought!

Tim, I actually found it more difficult to hit the pause and relax buttons this year. Giving yourself grace is one of the best things you can do. Thanks for sharing!
